The Interior

The Exterior
- Modified to suit the ever-popular “Back to ‘89” style, with a fantastic stance, and smoothed exterior
- As part of the modification process, chrome trim, door handles, bonnet handles, decklid handles, wing mirrors, vents and the decklid number plate housing have all been removed and smoothed over
- Due to the smoothed doors, the cabin is accessible via a push-button fitted to the driver’s side running board
- Features modified rear inner wings, which have been cut out and replaced with a space frame for greater cooling, and access
- Equipped with LED number plate screws and halo ring headlights, which utilize the side light position as the indicators in place of the original “top hat” units
- Features a quick-release rear valance, one-piece windows and a flush fuel filler cap from a MK1 Volkswagen Golf

The Mechanics
- Originally 1200cc, this Beetle now boasts a 1641cc motor, with complete tinware, a “Doghouse” fan shroud, an EMPI short shifter, and a 1500 gearbox for better-suited ratios
- Features an alternator conversion, electric fuel pump, Bosch 009 distributor, and a Flamethrower coil with Petronix electronic ignition system in place of the previous points & condenser system
- Sits upon a tube-supported rear axle, and a CB performance front beam, with sway adjusters, dropped spindles, and a front disc brake conversion
- Runs and drives brilliantly, although the current keeper notes the clutch may need adjusting in the future.
