The Appeal

It became known as the mini-E-Type, but Triumph’s Latinate six cylinder GT was no clone. Dropping the 2L motor from the Vitesse into the firm’s sleek coupe created a refined, stylish sports car quite unlike anything else on the market.
The MkIII updated the styling with Michelotti’s modern kamm tail and there were improvements to the handling too. That makes the final cars like this one particularly appealing.
This car’s British Racing Green colour scheme leans into its GT theme and is the result of an older full body restoration and respray. The idea continues inside where the recently fitted green carpets work well the new walnut dashboard and standard black bucket seats. Inside and out this is a stylish, very well presented sports car.
The mechanicals are in similar order having been comprehensively overhauled across engine, suspension, brakes and ancillaries. The car runs as well as it looks.
With all that investment plus a new roll-back Webasto sunroof, this car is ready for long runs on sunny days.
The vendor says:
“Great fun car to drive. Corners and accelerates well given its age. Low to the ground which has a “go kart” characteristic. Increases the enjoyment of the experience.
“Runs well. No knocking. Always reliable. No squeals or squeaks in corners. Breaks not spongy.”
