1972 Triumph 750 Custom Chopper

Vendor supplied images

Highlights

  • American frame and build in the traditional chopper style
  • Powered by Triumph's legendary parallel twin in 750 cc form
  • Finished to a high standard and adorned with amazing custom artwork

The Appeal

Good news! Old-school choppers are back - and the more outrageous they are, the better. Propelled to superstardom when the free-spirited Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper rode their excessively raked bikes through the American South in the 1969 film ‘Easy Rider’, the Chopper has been a symbol of counterculture for all those who consider themselves “born to be wild”.
Here we have a fantastic example which was built across the Atlantic in the United States - the spiritual home of the custom chopper. Now in the UK and yet to be registered, this bike offers an enticing opportunity to acquire your very own slice of classic Americana. Powered by Triumph’s legendary parallel twin in 750 cc form and built using an American-made frame, this very authentic build looks, sounds and rides exactly like choppers did in their heyday.
All that’s left to do, is “get your motor running” and “head out on the highway”...

The History and Paperwork

  • Constructed in the USA using American custom parts
  • The engine is sourced from 1972 Triumph Tiger 750
  • Dry stored since 2015, when it was imported to the UK although remaining unregistered
  • A dating certificate from the Triumph Owner’s Club can be obtained in order to aid UK road registration

The Condition

  • Aggressive front rake - the classic chopper look
  • American-made custom frame
  • Striking green paintwork with amazing artwork
  • Bespoke teardrop fuel tank and barrel-shaped oil reservoir
  • Quilted saddle with ultra-low seating position
  • Tastefully combines chrome with brass/gold coloured brightwork
  • A black alloy wheel is fitted at the rear while a chromed wire wheel is used up front
  • Wide bars and foot pegs for comfortable riding
  • Barely any wear of note
  • The bike would need to be recommissioned by needing a new battery and wiring up when fitted
  • The brakes will need bleeding as well and it would need a general look over before riding on the road

The Mechanics

  • Triumph Tiger 750 cc parallel twin
  • Four-speed gearbox
  • Disc brakes front and rear
  • Some small dents apparent to the exhaust headers
  • We understand the bike to be in good running order
