The Appeal
Restyled, lengthened, and internally enlarged, the Triumph 1500 was a fine development of its predecessor for the new decade. This was the company's first front-wheel-drive car, intended to compete with the Austin 1100. While it didn't quite achieve that milestone for the company, it most certainly achieved plenty for the drivers who took it on.
Perky, comfortable, and perfectly bridging that gap between luxury and practicality, this was a great executive-level saloon for the '70s motorist. A whisker over 66,300 were built, and they've become quite the scarce, desirable retro classic today.
This fine Sapphire blue example comes to us with boatloads of originality and a distinctive 1970s-style character.
