THE APPEAL
In September 1970, the first generation of the Opel Manta, known as the Manta A, was released. Taking influence from the stylish, powerful appearance of American cars, the Manta offered a practical, enjoyable driving experience package as a stylish and fashionable sports coupé.
The Manta had the looks, performance and agility that made it stand out against its competitors, especially the infamous Ford Capri. It was a huge hit in the UK and the US but many cars have battled the test of time and lost, resulting in very few Mantas left on today's roads.
Registered on the 4th of May 1972, this Manta was purchased by the first of only two owners, from Scott Brother Garage in Colchester for the sum of £1,315.98 and kept up until their passing in 2014 and later sold by the estate in 2015. It has undergone extensive body and mechanical restoration by R M Restorations Colchester with bills totalling an incredible £54,524. It has also recently benefited from a few final touches and refinements such as a new windscreen and rechromed bumpers, by the current owner during their ownership and it's presented in a near-excellent condition.
A rare and tempting opportunity to own a car rarely seen on today's roads, especially in as exceptional condition as this Manta.
