1972 Morgan Plus 8

Highlights

  • Excellent condition throughout
  • Fantastic driving experience
  • Ready to drive and enjoy

The Appeal

The Plus 8 is for many, the iconic Morgan. With classic British styling, excellent performance and superb handling it was in production from 1968 to 2004. Powered by the superb 3.5l Rover V8 SD1 engine coupled to the excellent chassis the Plus 8 provides an exciting and rewarding driving experience with plenty of style.
This Plus 8 looks fantastic finished in black with a full burgundy interior and with extensive use of wood further adding to the luxurious feel of the interior. The fantastic looks combined with thrilling performance make the Plus 8 a real drivers car that everyone will enjoy. Owned by a retired gentleman whose business was restoring Morgans, this Plus 8 has been restored to a very high standard and has been exceptionally well cared for during his ownership. It’s in fantastic condition throughout and ready to drive; just slide in behind the wheel and go.

The History and Paperwork

  • V5 Present and correct
  • Tax and MOT exempt
  • V112 MOT exemption certificate
  • A letter from Morgan confirming the build date of the car as 6th July 1972
  • MOTs 1996-2015

The Interior

  • The owner informs us that the interior was re-trimmed in 2008
  • Burgundy leather seats looks fantastic
  • Matching burgundy carpet in very good condition
  • Dashboard, dials and switches are all in excellent condition
  • The interior of the hood is in excellent condition
  • Mota-Lita wood rimmed steering wheel presents very well
The burgundy interior is a perfect match for the black exterior of this gorgeous Plus 8. It’s finished to the high standard and with the refined style we would expect of a Morgan having been re-trimmed by the current owner in 2008. The low slung driving position of the Plus 8 is relaxed and comfortable, but more than supportive enough for when the roads get twisty. Looking down the long bonnet with the top down, the windows off and the sound of the V8 purring away, there are few classic British motoring experiences that can match the Morgan.
All of the woodwork from the trim on the doors to the wide wood dashboard and Mota-Lita steering wheel look fantastic as well as being in excellent condition. The burgundy leather seats are soft, comfortable and in superb condition with the matching carpeting also in very good condition. The overall condition of this Plus 8 is superb and it makes for the kind of fantastic driving experience it’s hard not to love.

The black paintwork is in very good condition throughout and it’s clear that this has been a well cared for car. The chrome surrounds on the lights, bumpers, door handles and all of the other chrome trim all present very well, further adding to the fantastic impression that this car makes.  The hood and tonneau are both in superb condition along with the wheels.
