1972 MG Sports Mark 3 Roadster

Highlights

  • Interesting history and renovation
  • Good all-round condition
  • Enthusiast long-term ownership

The Appeal

From the moment the MGB was introduced it enjoyed a runaway sales success both sides of the Atlantic. It’s sporty looks, gutsy 1.8 litre engine and predictable handling proved irresistible to the motoring public and a true British motoring icon was born. The MG Sports we have here actually started out as an MGB GT which was completely restored by using a fully restored MGB Roadster body shell in 1998. All mechanical parts were transferred from the GT Body into the Roadster shell and thus the car, now designated as a MG Sports Mark 3, was born.
Since 2010 the car has been cosseted and cared for by the current enthusiast owner who has maintained the car and instigated a programme of on-going renovation and improvement.

The Summary

The MGB, and the Roadster in particular, is probably Britain’s most popular and loved classic car with very good reason. They are simple and economical to maintain and are the archetypal British sports car being tough, entertaining and fun to drive.
This nicely presented solid example has been well restored and very well cared for by its current owner of 13 years and is ready for its next owner to drive away and enjoy.
