1972 Mercedes-Benz 250 Saloon W114

Highlights

  • 52,675 miles indicated and likely accurate judging by the car’s condition and originality
  • Original book pack present
  • Copious work and servicing completed by marque specialist Edward Hall in 2023
  • Beautifully presented throughout
  • Right-hand drive UK-supplied example

The Appeal

Hailing from Mercedes-Benz’s golden era, the W114 offers a masterclass in elegant ‘three-box’ design. We have the great Paul Bracq to thank for its clean, uncluttered lines, while Mercedes-Benz’s long-standing reputation for dependable mechanicals ensured the W114 was a great success.
Here we have a commendably original example, a 250 Saloon supplied new to the UK in right-hand drive. The original book pack survives, as does the service portfolio and even the dealer stickers from J.R. Neyland Motors. The odometer displays 52,675 miles - which is likely an accurate figure based on the known history and condition of the car. Speaking of condition, it presents superbly throughout, with few signs of use or deterioration to report. Marque specialist Edward Hall carried out a great deal of work to the car last year, for which invoices are present.
Compared to its successor the W123, comparatively few W114s come to market in the UK, especially few in such good original condition as this car. For Mercedes-Benz collectors, such an opportunity is surely unmissable.
