1972 Land Rover Series IIA 88in

Highlights

  • Extensive rebuild and renovation since 2020 by Egdon
  • Earlier ground-up restoration on galvanised chassis
  • Re-trimmed with high end trim tan leather upholstery
  • New Turner engine at cost of almost £5,000
  • Over £10,000 of receipts for new parts alone
  • Unusual and interesting with commercial scope

The Appeal

The original Land Rover was built to blend in. On farm field or military field, its discreet blues and greens were a familiar but camouflaged sight. Not so this one. With its extensive Fuji White finish it was built to stand out.
It is the desirable and durable Series IIA with the 2.25L petrol powerplant. A comprehensive restoration in 2020 saw it switch to stand-out white and receive a fully rebuilt Turner engine. There are receipts for over £10,000 covering this work. A very experienced marque enthusiast completed the work.
The vendor acquired it in 2021, intending to use it as a wedding vehicle for his pubs business. To bring it up to the standard he wanted, he commissioned a two year restoration by Egdon, the independent Land Rover specialist. This involved thousands of pounds of work across the structure and details. The specification includes high end tan leather with folding rear seats and a smart beige roof with roll-up sides.
Now for sale due to a change of plans, it is a fantastic opportunity for the buyer to not only benefit from all that work but get their hands on a true one-off. It would work well as an attention-grabbing weekend car or commercial wedding car.
