The Appeal
The Lancia Fulvia Coupe may well be amongst one of the most handsome cars to ever roll out of Italy. Prized for its performance and movie-star good looks, this is a car that simply got everything right. It was rolled out alongside the boxy and rather starkly lined Berlina, and the Zagato-penned Sport, and for our money, was the best of the trio.
The Series II appeared in 1970 and offered a pretty impressive spec. These included enlarged and improved Girling brakes, a five-speed gearbox and a rather excellent 1298cc V4 engine, which quickly became a particularly well-respected piece of kit on the track.
This particular 1972 right-hand drive example, originally imported from dry South Africa, stands out due to its meticulous restoration. Only 18 months ago, the car underwent a thorough rebuild, costing over £10,000 + VAT on parts alone. The result is a remarkable Italian classic that defies its years - and offers an incredible prospect for any dedicated enthusiast.
