The Appeal
With its more spacious cabin, bigger doors and higher roofline, the Series III E-Type firmly appeals to the head. Then there is that super-smooth V12 and we’re firmly in heart territory.
These cars are such a popular part of the classic scene that it is a surprise to realise that just 2,051 RHD coupes were built. The manual gearbox version, as here, provides the broadest blend of relaxing GT progress with engaging, press-on sporting prowess.
This ‘72 car in beige has just emerged from storage. It has covered few miles since E-Type specialist Lanes Cars did £21,000 of work to it, including the bulkhead, rebuilt radiator, new exhaust system, sunroof refurbishment and interior titivation. The result is a very solid and usable car with what appears to be low mileage from new.
