The Appeal

An excellent opportunity to own a very well cared for 72’ Stingray, which has clearly been maintained to a very high standard and has an all blue paint job and interior trim, which is a rare sight! the Targa blue is a stunning colour and is sure to turn heads wherever you go.

The incredible soundtrack produced by the 5.7L V8 can’t be ignored! Having had only one previous keeper since its UK registration, this car has the advantage of having had very few, but very caring keepers, who have kept this car in stunning shape.  A real, authentic muscle car with incredible looks in great condition.

The Interior

  • Stunning full blue trim
  • Excellent condition
  • Factory option A/C
The interior of this wonderful Stingray is a time capsule that will transport you right back to 1972, providing that open top, muscle car feel wherever you look. An absolute joy to behold, the feel is original throughout.

First to greet you as you step into the cockpit is the large 3 spoke steering wheel with a massive speedometer and rev counter, it is immediately obvious that you are in a bold, powerful car. There is no shortage go gauges in the centre console either, five in fact, showing fuel, water temp, clock, oil pressure, and battery. The factory optional extra A/C is also fitted.

The interior is also trimmed entirely in blue which is quite special as this was not standard on the Targa Blue Stingray’s, and as such was either a special order from the factory or was fitted at a later date. Also an interesting detail of note this car is actually fitted with a 1971 specification plate, as the 1972 plates omitted the hp figure. Overall condition is very clean and in exceptional shape for the age, with only a very light patina on some of the surfaces which really only enhances the feel of the car.

The Exterior

  • Targa Blue paint
  • Firehawk Indy 500 tyres
  • excellent paint finish
This stunning Stingray is finished in Targa Blue, quite a rare colour with relatively few 1972 Corvette’s receiving this colour option and the finish is superb, clearly a very well looked after vehicle. The 1972 model was the last to feature the chrome front bumpers, a sought-after and timeless look. The flowing lines of this car are a joy to behold, and the car oozes muscle and style.

The original C3 rally wheels are shod with Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tyres, all in fantastic condition. The pop-up lights work well and look fantastic. Only some minor patina appears on the badges and some chrome parts, however, as with the interior, this only adds to the charm and gives this car a really authentic feel.

The fish-gill styled vents mounted on the sides below the stingray emblem really complete the look. The convertible top is also clean and working. If one thing is for certain, this car is a real head turner in the looks department.

The Mechanics

  • Very clean
  • clearly well maintained
This machine is a delight to observe mechanically, under the bonnet the engine bay is very clean and it has been kept meticulously clean. There is very few signs of minor corrosion around underneath but the car has preserved exceptionally well, so these are very unlikely to cause any issues for a long time. The massive 5.7L V8 looks sublime and the large Edelbrock pancake filter certainly looks right at home on this engine.

Summary

A stunning 70’s muscle car, this is certainly not to be missed. A fantastic example inside and out of a very well cared for Stingray in a rare colour combination. Stepping into this vehicle will transport you back in time to the golden age of American muscle cars.
