The Appeal
While the Aston Martin DBS was originally released in straight-six form, its brand-new hand-built bodywork was destined to carry Tadek Marek’s brand-new V8, which was eventually ready for production by 1969. Later renamed the Aston Martin V8 in recognition of its exciting new powertrain, it immediately became synonymous with luxury and performance.
This 1972 right-hand drive V8 Coupé Series II was imported from the UK and has lain dormant for a number of years. It requires full restoration but is believed complete. Its leather upholstery has been removed, along with the bumpers to preserve them and the vendor reports it to be in good condition for its age. The engine was rebuilt some years ago and has not run since, although the vendor advises that it will need to be overhauled again due to inactivity and outdoor storage.
For those seeking a properly special British classic to restore, this Aston Martin DBS would be an eminently worthy candidate.
