The Appeal
When the 1970s arrived, Yamaha were sitting in a pretty comfortable place at the top end of the motorcycle market. Well respected and primarily known for its twin-stroke engines, the new XS motorcycle must have been quite an eyebrow-raiser. It was bigger, it was faster, and it carried a gem in its belly - a 654cc four-stroke that placed amongst one of the most advanced reciprocating engines that they had ever assembled.
This example comes to us in the bike's near-synonymous Candy Orange colour scheme, still shining following a restoration around 6 years ago. These bikes are only becoming more popular some fifty years later, and it's little wonder. You've the perfect opportunity to get your hands on a truly superb retro mount.
