The Appeal
The 504 was one of Peugeot's most successful platforms. It was built all over the world and became well-known for its ruggedness and versatility. In period, it won ‘European Car of the Year’ and would later be recognised for its widespread use across the African continent. Several body styles were offered, and by far the most intriguing to us is the Pininfarina-designed two-door Cabriolet.
Early examples are now vanishingly rare, especially in the UK, so we’re delighted to offer this 1971 example which the vendor imported from Italy in 2014. Offered as a rolling restoration, several of the most pertinent corrosion repairs have already been completed and the fuel-injected 1,796 cc engine has been rebuilt. This car has good bones, runs and drives well and so that leaves it up to the next owner to sort out the cosmetics and return this exquisite Cabriolet to the road.
