The Appeal

The name was entirely apt. Morris’ characterful Traveller was built for adventures and forms a nostalgic part of many enthusiasts’ early family life. Looking at this lovely Old English White ‘71 model you can sense why - this is the everyday family car that looks unlike anything else thanks to its hand-built wooden frame.
All of which likely explains why the Traveller remains sought-after by classic car fans. These are reliable, easy-to-work-on classics with a ready supply of spares. That they are also very practical thanks to a big boot and space for four adds to the allure.
First registered in August 1971, right at the end of Moggy production, this characterful Traveller dials up the appeal with some attractive period accessories such as the roof rack, sun visor and headlamp covers. It was comprehensively restored in the 2010s, work that included a new ash frame, bodywork fettling and full respray. More recently the engine, gearbox and back axle have been rebuilt. It benefit from conversion to front disc brakes, an alternator in place of the dynamo and electronic ignition, all of which improve the drivability and reliability.
Regularly serviced throughout its life, this very tidy and usable Traveller looks very charismatic and ready for new adventures.
The vendor writes:
“It drives very well indeed. It is very easy to operate and would make a fabulous 'starter classic'. It was recently driven 100 miles and never skipped a beat.”
