The Appeal

MG’s long-lived T Series sports cars had garnered a faithful following, loved for their relative affordability and the performance they offered. Its replacement, the excellent yet expensive MGA, proved out of reach for many, so Abingodon introduced the Sprite and Midget models as a more obtainable option. It proved enormously successful and these little roadsters are still a mainstay of amateur hill climb, sprint and trials events.
This 1971 example would be an excellent candidate for grassroots motorsports entrants or else as a usable sports car or restoration project. As the photographs show, this MG is highly original, complete and in fair condition for its age. We’re informed that the engine last ran around six months although now needs work since it’s refusing to start.
Exempt from road tax, MOT this Midget is a compelling project.
