The Appeal
Described by Classic & Sports Car magazine as the ‘gateway drug’ into the classic-car world, the MGB is a true motoring icon that retains a huge following in the UK and around the world. The car was launched in 1962 and was an instant hit; the car’s popularity meant that although production was originally intended to continue for seven years, it was extended again and again until the last car was made in 1980. Over its lifespan more than half a million MGBs and variants were produced, and the cars remain popular with classic-car enthusiasts to this day.
The vendor purchased this car from a dedicated enthusiast in July 2021, having been carefully ‘vetted’ by him to make sure that she was a suitable owner for his much-loved car! Having used and enjoyed it, and continued its cherished lifestyle, she is now relocating abroad and her new home has nowhere to store to store the car, so she has reluctantly decided to part with it.
Of particular note is the car’s amazing history file, with invoices dating back over many years, past MoT certificates, tax discs and so on, that is testament to the care and attention that has been lavished on this example throughout its life by a succession of dedicated owners.
