1971 Kawasaki H2

Highlights

  • Restored example
  • Fantastic condition
  • Well maintained
  • Dual brake setup

The Appeal

Following the success of its predecessor, the H2 made waves in the motorcycle industry with its buckets of power, and impressive performance. In fact, the H2 was at one point, the fastest accelerating production motorcycle, partly thanks to its abundance of low-end torque and strong power throughout the rev range.
Now, the H2 stands as one of those bikes that simply has to be enjoyed by any true enthusiast or collector, almost as somewhat of a bucket-list item. This particular example benefits from a previous restoration by one of the most renowned builders in the world of Kawasaki triples and now presents itself in superb condition. If you’re looking for a stunning, well-maintained, and fully operational H2 to add to your collection, look no further than this very bike.

The History and Paperwork

  • Previously restored
  • Just 3 former keepers
  • Well maintained example
  • V5C document present
  • 2 Keys
This Kawasaki has just 3 former UK owners, and benefits from a previous restoration, courtesy of John Edge, a renowned Kawasaki triple builder.

The vehicle then made its way to the current keeper, who has since treasured the bike as part of a collection, covering very few miles throughout their ownership. Now, this bike continues to present itself beautifully and is ready to be enjoyed by the lucky new owner.

The Exterior

  • Previously restored
  • Superb condition
  • Iconic Kawasaki styling
This H2 looks absolutely spectacular, having received a tremendous amount of attention and care in the past. Chrome and brightwork look brilliant, showing off a fantastic level of shine, and complementing the blue painted components wonderfully.
As the vehicle has seen rather few miles since its restoration, the exterior presents itself with only the one known noticeable flaw, to be found with the pictured chip on the black frame. Otherwise, all trim components, lights, painted pieces and wheels present themselves near faultlessly. In addition to being in excellent condition, the wheels are also wrapped in a fresh set of tyres, with plenty of tread for the lucky new owner to enjoy.

The Mechanics

  • Air-cooled triple
  • Previously rebuilt
  • New chain & sprockets
  • Dual front brakes
  • New tyres
  • Well maintained
  • Recently serviced
Buyers will be pleased to know that this H2 fires up right away, and performs exactly as intended, living up to its legendary reputation. This bike is one of the rare few to be specced with the dual front brakes; Kawasaki’s attempt to tame the wheelie-loving, wild animal that is the H2.
Having been rebuilt by a well-regarded builder within the Kawasaki world, the bike has needed very little over the years, having required only a new chain & sprockets throughout its time with the current keeper. The bike has also been serviced of course and comes with plenty of tyre tread to enjoy. Should the new keeper wish, the original tyres have been retained by the current keeper and can also be included with the sale, if a touch more originality is desired.

Summary

This bike presents a superb opportunity to own some of Kawasaki’s most legendary work; the almighty, scarily fast H2. The bike benefits from a previous restoration, as well as plenty of care and maintenance along the way, now presenting itself in superb condition.

If you’re looking for a stunner of a bike to add to your collection or fancy yourself a truly exhilarating ride, this Kawasaki H2 is the perfect choice.
