THE APPEAL
Iconic in name and nature, the Ford Cortina spent twenty years and 5 iterations dominating the market and concreting itself as one of the greatest models of the 20th century. Everyone knows someone who had a Cortina at one point or another, they were a familiar sight on the roads of Britain but as the years rolled by, very few have survived the test of time.
Reigning from 1970-1975, the third generation Cortina was inspired by the contemporary ‘coke bottle’ styling that had emanated from the states and soon became Britain’s best-selling car from 1972 all the way until 1976.
This low-ownership 2000 GT is a good, fair example of the model, being kept maintained by a father and son duo up until its purchase by the current vendor in 2020. It features an excellent interior and original 78,038 miles

SUMMARY
The Ford Cortina is a name most will recognise as one of the all-time great models produced over the 60s, 70s and 80s. It's likely you or someone you knew had one, they were everywhere yet over the years less and less have survived the wet, cold conditions of the UK. This 2000 GT is one of very few left on UK roads, less than 50 in fact. They’re a rare sight but what isn't rare is seeing how people react to them, it brings back memories of childhood and reminders of moments that were almost forgotten about. This
Cortina is a good, honest example that could be made into a stunning car and a great opportunity to relive those cherished memories of a wonderful era.
