1971 Fiat 500

Highlights

  • Stunning paintwork and interior
  • Soft top roof in excellent condition
  • Solid underside
  • Abarth styling

The Appeal

Any car enthusiast would agree that the Fiat 500 was a landmark car  world-wide being one of the best selling cars ever made. Cheap,  quirky and easy to fix was the name of the game and as the years  have gone on, all that has really changed is the desirability, with  excellent examples like this one becoming quite rare and also very  collectable.

This stunning little motor shines bright in its well  kept paintwork and boasts a tidy interior, soft top roof and sporty  touches that only add to the feel and looks.

The History and Paperwork

  • V5 document showing 8 previous keepers
  • Handful of paperwork backing up work carried out over some years
  • Plethora of old MOT certificates to back up the cars history and  condition

The Interior

  • Black leatherette bucket seats and rear bench in good order with just a small seam separation on the driver's seat
  • Chunky Abarth badged sports steering wheel
  • Front and rear door cards match the seats and are in nice condition
  • Simple clean dashboard with a clear speedometer
  • Interior paintwork is good and shiny matching the exterior
  • Upgraded parcel shelf speakers fit the interior look well

The Exterior

  • Glorious red paintwork with just a few small marks and blemishes  with nothing untoward that we saw
  • 12'' multi spoke wheels in silver, could benefit from a refurbishment but still presentable
  • Sporty bonnet tie downs
  • Chrome and brightwork all in very nice condition

The Mechanics

  • Under the engine compartment the condition is really clean and  tidy with a nice original look and no evident leaks
  • Under the bonnet everything is tidy with a spare wheel and some tools and everything else tidy and relatively clean
  • Good tyres all round
  • New looking exhaust silencer
  • Really solid look underneath with a light coating of underseal to protect

Summary

A fabulous example of a pure Italian classic with a wonderful  original feel and look. Evidently well cared for with plenty of  paperwork to go along with it, this charming little motor is a sure fire pleaser for a collector or as a weekend toy.
All round very clean and tidy, there is unlikely very much this Fiat will need in the near future and is ready to be enjoyed as it is.
