- Comprehensive restoration carried out several years ago
- Imported, registered and ready to enjoy
The Appeal
The late 1960s and early ‘70s was a golden era for American muscle cars. Huge V8s, lairy colours and grand names like “Challenger” and “Mustang”. Here’s one of the lesser-seen, yet equally worthy cars from that crazy era - the AMC Javelin SST 360.
The Javelin carved its niche with daring design - quite different to its rivals in the “pony car” sector, while the engine was pure American muscle - a 5.9-litre carburetted V8 with 350 horsepower.
This 1971 example looks very original and in superb overall condition considering its age. As the photographs show, it’s resplendent in a striking shade of yellow, offset with chrome wheels and black vinyl roof sections. The Javelin’s styling still demands attention today, punctuated by those bulging fenders and huge boot/“trunk” spoiler
A comprehensive restoration was carried out several years ago, and the vendor assures us that the Javelin continues to drive beautifully, ready to be enjoyed.
