The Appeal
Before the modern trend for diminutive ‘toy’ versions of classic cars there was Strikes Racing. Its petrol-powered cars were designed for kids but could also easily accommodate full sized people too. An ERA-based version, like this one, even featured on Blue Peter.
Classically finished in racing green and recently fully restored across the fibreglass bodywork and stove-enamelled metal chassis, this fascinating rarity is in very good condition. The current keeper rescued it from a farm in poor condition and has brought it back to life, subsequently featuring it regularly at the Shere Hill Climb event, which he runs. He tells us that it is very popular with kids - but at 5ft 10in he can also easily drive it.
This is the perfect Christmas gift for the petrolhead with kids - yes, we know who it’s really for - or it would work very well as an attention-grabbing promotional vehicle. Whichever you choose, it is in great condition and ready to bring a smile to many more faces, young and not so young.
