Pre-bids

1970 Mercedes-Benz W114 250CE

Highlights

  • Complete car in silver metallic with blue interior
  • Enthusiast-owned car with just six registered keepers
  • Desirable 2.5L straight six model with auto box
  • Scope to improve or good basis for parts

The Appeal

It was typical of Mercedes-Benz that the firm could spin a sleek, pillarless coupe out of the boxy and functional W114 saloon. These elegant, expensive four seat cars are rare finds today, yet practical ones if you need a classic with passenger and boot space.
This enthusiast-owned car has been well known in Club circles, although it could do with a little TLC from the right buyer now. Finished in silver with a dark blue interior, it is complete and is therefore a good basis for restoration because interior parts are becoming scarce.
The car could also be used as a basis for spares, but with W114 coupes becoming thin on the ground and this car evidently having led a loved life, we hope it receives the attention it deserves.

We want a smooth transaction just as much as you do and as such we run all UK-registered cars and motorbikes for sale on Car & Classic through an online HPI check to verify that they show no insurance database markers for damage or theft, and have no finance owing, allowing you to bid with confidence.
✓ We also check whether vehicles are recorded as being written off as part of an insurance total loss claim at the time an advert is placed on Car & Classic and we helpfully provide write-off category labels (Cat C/D/S/N) for your assistance. However, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the vehicle’s status and it is always worthwhile carrying out your own  full vehicle history check before making an offer on a vehicle.
