The Appeal
The Ford Cortina MK2 1600E Series 2 is a classic British car that is appreciated by enthusiasts for its blend of style, performance, and practicality. Often credited as one of the most important classics in British motoring history, it's easy to see why the Cortina was so prized. Those near-European lines, the charismatic performance and a chassis inspired by the track all brought something truly special. If the Cortina was already beloved, the new Cortina was several steps beyond - and for a while, may well have been one of the most desirable cars on the market.
That's fitting, really - as we expect this remarkable example will keep up the tradition.
This particular example has been carefully restored by its previous owner. The car's interior has been retrimmed in black Bridge of Weir soft leather with red piping by a Rolls Royce trimmer, true to the Cortina's luxurious cabin and its standards. The car has been dry stored in a company warehouse, helping to maintain its condition. It recently completed an 80-mile round trip to take part in a show in Essex - and we're told it ran like a dream.
