THE ATTRACTIONS
Having become an unmistakable icon, the Fiat 500 is one of the best-loved and most collected small cars in the world, celebrated by thousands of clubs and the protagonist of extremely popular rallies.
Launched in 1965, the 500 F represented an important evolution of the model, adopting for the first time doors hinged at the front instead of upwind and a wider windscreen, and introducing some mechanical modifications including a more powerful 18 hp engine.
At the same time, the F retained some fascinating features of the early series, such as the attractive metal dashboard of the 1950s models.
This attractive 500 F, owned by its current owner for almost twenty years, was painstakingly restored in 2011 and has over the years undergone a long series of high-level aesthetic and mechanical customisations, carried out with great respect for originality and inspired by those that the most astute drivers used to make to their 500s in the 1960s.
The mechanical modifications are numerous and include, among other things, the 650cc engine increased to 680cc, 35/75 camshaft, Panda 30 connecting rods, Fzd 32/28 carburettor, machined cylinder head and oversized valves, lowered set-up with 5-sheet inverted leaf spring, springs and rear shock absorbers and stainless steel exhaust.
The bodywork looks very nice, with shiny white paint and no visible defects, apart from some damage to the sheet metal under the doors.
Equipped with replica Cmr rims like those used by the 500 Abarth and fitted with a lowered set-up, this 500 looks much sportier and more aggressive than the production models, also thanks to the double exhaust.
The modifications in a racing key continue on the inside, where we find anatomical reclining Fusina-style seats with Abarth branding, a rear bench seat upholstered in matching fabric, a three-spoke steering wheel with wooden crown, a beautiful sporty Abarth-style dashboard with Veglia Borletti instruments with chrome surrounds and three additional instruments on the dashboard in front of the passenger.
Equipped with beautiful period number plates that perfectly complement its appearance, this 500 has overhauls valid until 2025 and Italian documents, including the original registration.
Well maintained and expertly tuned, this 500 faithfully reproduces the features most desired by Italian motorists of the 1960s and 1970s and represents an unmissable opportunity for an enthusiast who wants to get behind the wheel of a peppy and fun 500 already well tuned.
