The most

Introduced in 1968, the Citroën Mehari remained on the market with few changes for around eighteen years - after all, it was a leisure car that simply ticked all the boxes. Capable of being driven off-road, carrying the 2CV's simple, easy-to-maintain engine and practically featherweight, these cars were supposed to be an answer to the Mini Moke. Far be it from us to upset British purists, but it succeeded.

The 4x4 is by far the best of the Meharis models, which some say transformed the car's characteristics to allow it to be at home off-road. The 4x4s were twice as expensive as the original Mehari when they were built and therefore sold in small numbers - meaning that this particular car is a rare and sought-after example.

This 4x4 Mehari, registered in February 1983, has undergone extensive restoration work, including chassis restoration and new pipework. With a Contrôle Technique valid until November 2028, this vehicle is ready for adventures on and off road, and should prove to be a very versatile, unpretentious and distinctly retro classic for the lucky new owner.
