The Appeal
Ah yes, the Morris Traveller. Alongside an old Series Land Rover, these are perhaps the most bucolic British vehicles; the sort of thing you'd see parked outside a grocer's shop in an English 'chocolate box' village in a period drama. You could paint one into Constable's 'Hay Wain' and the experts probably wouldn't notice...
While the 'woody wagon' concept was nothing new, it was far less common here than in America, and the Traveller was surely one of the last in which the timber played a key structural role. It takes a skilled joiner to finish a traveller properly as no two turned out exactly alike.
Our vendor purchased this 1969 example from the reputable Charles Ware Morris Minor Centre and the Morris has been lovingly maintained since. incorporating sensible modern upgrades such as Charles Ware "Series 3" front seats, halogen headlamps, and a heated rear screen, it offers a blend of classic charm and contemporary usability which we feel stands this example head and shoulders above the majority of survivors. It's supremely usable for its age.
The vehicle has seen minimal use in recent years, averaging just 100 miles per year under the current ownership, and has been garage-stored to preserve its condition. Recent repairs to the rear sills and floor pan ensure it's ready to be enjoyed and the next owner can rest easy in the knowledge it has recently passed an MOT test.
