The Appeal
Arguably the go to brand for quality sports cars, MG were always leading the pack when it came to stylish, dynamic automobiles, and so when the time came to introduce a flagship and competitor to the Austin Healey 3000 to the lineup, it was always going to be good. The perfect recipe of lightness, performance and style meant the ever popular MGB would make an ideal base for the new car.
Very much reminiscent of the aforementioned B, the all new MGC took everything that was great about the model and turned it up to 11, with more aggressive styling, improved suspension, brakes and of course the most notable improvement, a glorious straight six engine to give the C the much needed performance gains its lower specification older brother had always been lacking.
Just over 4,500 MGC roadsters are reported to have been made during the model's short production run, and with a large fraction of those being directly sold into the USA, good quality UK registered examples are incredibly hard to come by. Which makes the car presented for sale here all the more alluring for the potential C buyer.
A recent South African import, this 1969 C Roadster is a quality example of the performance roadster. UK registered and in good mechanical order, it's a car you could happily jump right in and have some fun with, but is one that would respond well to some light tlc if you were looking for a car you can get your hands dirty with. Whatever direction you’re looking to go with a C, this is a car that will lend itself well to the task.
