1969 MG B

Highlights

  • Full body restoration in 1995, maintaining original Pale Primrose colour

  • Garaged and used only in dry conditions since restoration

The Appeal

The most iconic of the British classics. A smartly-poised, elegant roadster that summated the golden age of the great British sports car. That language of a summer's breeze in your hair with a perky little four-pot in front of you - it's a universal one, and with one of the best support networks in the business, it's little wonder the MGB continues to endure decade after decade.

This desirable 1969 example comes to us in fine order, with a very evocative Pale Primrose livery. Bolstered by a comprehensive history and plentiful, regular maintenance, this car has clearly lived a very comfortable life - including a full body restoration in 1995 and the fitting of a reconditioned engine in 2015.

Little used in recent years, this much-loved car is now ready and waiting for its next chapter.

The Condition

  • Slight dent to the rear off side beneath the bumper, caused by an item stored against it in the garage
  • A few small chips and scratches to paintwork in various areas, though nothing intrusive
  • Some light areas of peel, exposing seemingly isolated corrosion, on the lower doors
  • Hood is looking a little tired
  • New set of silver polish rim alloy wheels and tyres installed in 2015
  • The car is also supplied with a set of Rostyle wheels
  • Some areas of corrosion and paint peel around the sills
  • Underside appears solid with some light corrosion
  • Original leather seats are cracked and split, in need of refurbishment or replacement

  • Sharp cassette player in situ

The Mechanics

  • 1,798cc B-Series 4-cylinder engine
  • Manual transmission with 4 gears
  • Engine bay in good order
  • Reconditioned engine from Ivor Searle fitted in 2015
  • Brakes were worked on when the reconditioned engine was installed
  • Very recently, a new battery and starter motor have been installed
  • Little or no use in the last few years; as a result the car requires a service
  • Potential need for work on the front near side brake
  • Reconditioned engine reportedly runs well without issue
