The Appeal
The Lambretta GP was introduced in 1969 - the final iteration of the legendary scooter that's now so synonymous with the modernist subculture. Light cosmetic updates brought the bike into a sleeker, more modern styling - involving a slightly shortened headstock tube, black parts in place of chrome and a square headlamp shape. It was naturally a huge success, but it was through Arthur Francis that the GP had its most legendary exploits, with his distinctive tuned 'dealer specials'.
Primed for racing, tuned and beautifully finished, these are amongst the most desirable GPs on the market - and this one, discovered in a garage in 1976, will no doubt offer a tantalising prospect. Still in a very impressive red livery, this scooter's untouched, as-found condition offers a unique opportunity for restoration or preservation.

- The vendor applied to the DVLA to regain original registration but the application was turned down

- Complete with a letter from the DVLA dated 1983, confirming the original registration number
The Condition
- Paintwork as shown in photographs, with storage wear

- Bike appears to be solid with no obvious perforating corrosion
- Lambretta is almost complete, except the exhaust/carburettor, headlamp reflector, and surround
- The bike needs a full rebuild from top to bottom
- Not rideable currently
- Has only been washed off since purchase
The Mechanics
- 200cc twin-stroke single-cylinder engine
- Manual transmission with 4 gears
- Another complete engine included, less barrel and piston, with an unstamped crankcase
- Current engine is solid but has been soaking over the last few months
- A restoration will no doubt be required
