The Appeal
Starting life as a UK supplied 1300 GT Escort, whilst with its previous owner in the Isle of Man, the car was stripped right down to its chassis and rebuilt to competition spec featuring a strengthened chassis, 2.1 litre Pinto overhead cam engine, metal flared wheel arches and many other performance enhancements that would have featured on the 1974 World Cup rally cars.
In fantastic condition throughout, having been part of a large private collection these past few years, this one-off Special has never been raced or rallied and is a wonderful homage or tribute to the very successful race cars of that era.

A basic but complete competition interior with rear roll cage and Stack instruments and dials. Leather Recaro seats, a custom dashboard with push-button starter and a 5-speed type 9 manual gear box complete the competition look and feel.
It’s all in lovely condition and all electrics and switchgear are reported to be in perfect working order.

An extremely well put together Escort Rally Special. The engine fires up instantly at the first push of the starter button with a wonderful and purposeful exhaust note from the custom pipe work underneath. It goes, stops and handles very nicely indeed with no odd quirks or issues to be aware of.
The Summary
Plenty of power from the rebuilt 2.1 litre overhead cam engine and exemplary handling from the modified chassis and suspension package all wrapped up in a stunning looking body package should guarantee plenty of smiles per mile and allow you entry into many historic rallies and events should you fancy some competition driving.
