The Appeal
Founded by Alex Francis and Bill Harris, Alexis race cars were set up to produce Formula Junior cars for Team Alexis during the late 1950s and 1960s with numerous achievements attained. The company's main success came from its Formula Ford efforts, with both competitive and commercial performance hailed as outstanding thanks to the firm’s MK14 Russell-Alexis car. The MK14 evolved into the MK15 in the late 1960s, becoming the firm's frontline Formula Ford for the 1969 season.
Widely regarded as one the most influential race cars produced thanks to adoption by Jim Russell’s race school, the Alexis Formula Ford has helped many top-tier drivers get started in the world of Formula racing.
Purchased in 2002 by the vendor, this MK15 has been raced, tuned and enjoyed every season since with a long history of competing the HSCC Historic Formula Ford Championship along with other key eligible events.
