Pre-bids

1968 Morris Minor Traveller

Highlights

  • Complete restoration, including a new wooden frame
  • Extensive history file with invoices dating back to the 1990s
  • Participation in notable rallies such as Paris-Goodwood and Rallye d'Aumale

The Plus

The Traveller was a rather unusual vehicle for its time. While most car manufacturers had abandoned wooden-framed estate cars by the late 1930s, Morris did exactly the opposite when it unveiled the Traveller in 1953 and continued to build it until 1971. It may have looked old-fashioned, but nevertheless, the charming Traveller was a huge success. Buyers loved its practicality as an estate car and its unique rear door layout.

This 1968 example is beautiful, benefiting from a major restoration by the seller's brother. We are told that it runs superbly and that the car is used almost daily, also taking part in rallies such as Paris-Goodwood and the Rallye d'Aumale. It is accompanied by a very comprehensive file of invoices in France and the UK since the 1990s, with photographs of all the work carried out over the last thirty years.

Registered in France with a Carte Grise de Collection, this charming little Morris is ready for a new owner.
