THE APPEAL

The Morris Minor is widely recognised as one of the great British motoring icons whose production spanned over 24 years. Available in several body styles ranging from the two-door saloon, pick-up, panel van, convertible, traveller (wooden rear frame) and this particular model, the four-door saloon. 
This 1968 example has been with the vendor since 1998. During that time, the car has been used very little but has received a respray around ten years ago and has been given regular oil changes regardless of mileage.

  • The rear seat is in good order, but there is a small tear in the upper section of the seat 
  • Front and rear inertia reel seatbelts installed
  • Colour coded dashboard presents well 
  • The instrument binnacle is in good order
  • Odometer shows a reading of 69,128 miles 
  • The switch gear operates as it should
  • The original steering wheel has some patina
  • Red carpets have been replaced and are in good condition

THE EXTERIOR

  • Fully respray in the original Maroon B colour
  • The paintwork has a few blemishes 
  • The door shuts align well with an equal gap 
  • Chrome work is in good condition with minimal age-related  tarnishing
  • The windows look to be in good condition
  • Window frames and seals are in good order
  • Headlights have a bright finish with no chips in the lenses
  • The rear lights are also in good order 
  • Steel wheels are finished in cream with the original Morris M hubcaps
  • The tyres are matching and have a good amount of tread

THE MECHANICS

  • 1097cc engine
  • Four-speed gearbox
  • The vendor reports the Morris to start up without hesitation
  • There are no issues reported with the running of the car 
  • The gear change is said to be as it should 
  • Suspension gives a smooth ride with no noises coming from either corner of the car
  • No issues are reported with the brakes, and the car stops in a straight line 

SUMMARY 

It is reportedly well maintained and regularly started even though it has covered so few miles in the past 17 years.
