The Appeal

Often shortlisted as a contender for the most beautiful car of all time, there isn’t much on four wheels that’s half as good to look at as a Pagoda. The W113 SL was designed for Mercedes-Benz by legendary stylist Paul Bracq. The combination of his penmanship and the typically Teutonic build quality made this generation of SL a force to be reckoned with. Even sixty years on, it remains a much sought-after automotive icon.

This 1968 280 SL was imported to the UK from Germany by its current owner. It has since been garage-stored and looked after exclusively by a classic Mercedes-Benz specialist. As the photographs attest, it’s a well-preserved example in highly usable order. The vendor regularly exercises the car, telling us they often drive it on the M25. We’re assured that it drives beautifully and is ready to enjoy.
