1968 Jaguar MkII 3.4 Manual

 Highlights:

  • Stacks of history
  • Current owner for the past 21 years
  • Good, useable working condition, ready to go

The Appeal

The Jaguar Mk2 needs no introduction, it has firmly cemented its claim in history as one of the most charismatic and best-looking super saloons from a time where there was nothing else on the road that could keep up.
This example has been kept for the past 21 years by the same owner, the same owner that offers it up for sale today. Having not found the time to drive the car as much recently due a change in family circumstances the owner has decided to very reluctantly offer up the car to a new custodian.
The car has had major work done in 2002 and regular maintenance and repairs have been kept up with since. It has a few sections that are starting to show their age as you’d expect 21 years on but it remains in good, useable, working order.

The History and Paperwork

  • Huge history file
  • Number plate that is currently on the car is being removed and will come with OBW 328F
  • Engine has been rebuilt whilst in the current owner’s custodianship
  • Records of a previous restoration with receipts for two resprays during its lifetime
  • Original Jaguar 340 service book, brochure and maintenance documents
  • 21 MOTs for every year the seller has owned the car
  • Recent work includes, new distributor and ignition system, new clutch, new fuel filters and a clean out of the lines
  • The car has had significant money spent on maintaining and repairing over the years, evidenced and remains in good working order

The Condition

  • Indigo Blue with light grey Connolly leather
  • The car has undergone a bare metal restoration previously with photos to show the work
  • The engine has been rebuilt and runs well, reports the seller
  • Wire wheels are in good condition and the tyre have plenty of tread
  • There are some signs of corrosion starting to show through under the windscreen and around the bottom of the doors
  • Chrome work/exterior trim is reportedly all present, showing some signs of wear but in good condition
  • The boot is sizeable and houses the full-size spare wheel
  • The owner advises that the vehicle has been kept in a garage

The Mechanics

  • 3.4 Litre straight six engine which has been rebuilt in the current owner’s time with the car along with the gearbox (July 2002)
  • Brakes all round have been upgraded to discs all round
  • Suspension upgraded to Spax dampers
  • Electronic fuel pump and regulator installed
  • Electronic ignition
  • Kenlowe fan fitted
  • Stainless steel exhaust
  • Interior Clayton heater rebuilt
