1968 Jaguar 240 MOD

Highlights

  • Older restoration in well kept order
  • Desirable factory overdrive model
  • Recent mechanical overhaul
  • Runs and drives well

The Appeal

The 240 and 340 Jaguars were a final fling for the iconic Mk2 shape. The decision to give it one last go reflected healthy sales of the evergreen sporting saloon.
Little changed compared to the earlier model, slim bumpers being the only obvious differentiator but the 2.4litre car usefully gained more power. Available for only two years, they are particularly rare with just 3,710 2.4 RHD cars like this one produced.
This solid and neatly presented late 1968 example of the 240 benefits from a recent new cylinder head, exhaust valves and head skim, coupled up with a stainless steel exhaust that could surprise a few seasoned MK II devotees. It was restored in 1997, refinished in white and comes
with a healthy batch of maintenance and restoration invoices.
