The Appeal
Following its acquisition of Daimler, Jaguar was met with demand for a replacement for the Daimler Conquest, and thus the Daimler 2.5 V8 was born. Visually similar to the Jaguar Mark II, the 2.5 V8 would essentially merge Jaguar’s sleek platform, with Daimler’s highly praised Turner 2.5L V8 drivetrain.
Later, the 2.5 would receive a light facelift, in the form of new slimline bumpers, interior updates, and light mechanical revisions, such as the addition of an alternator, and twin air-cleaners. This would of course be designated as the Daimler V8-250, which stood as the greatest combination of Jaguar’s sleek coachwork, and Daimler’s impressive engineering.
Today, the Daimler V8-250 still stands as a rather significant vehicle in British motoring history, as both one of the first Jaguar-based Daimler vehicles, and also as the last to feature a Daimler engine. As a result, and thanks to their impressive performance & comfort even by today's standards, the V8-250 remains incredibly desirable.
This particular example is a superb showcase of both marque’s input, proudly boasting a gorgeous colour combination, luxurious interior, sleek coachwork, and fantastic mechanical health. If you’re looking to cruise around in style, this well-maintained Daimler V8-250 is a truly fantastic option, and should be snapped up right away.
