Highlights
- Complete with its UK V5C and an original Aston Martin Ltd plate ID with chassis number
- Media blasted and ready to restore
- Complete with a number of repair sections in order to repair the shell
- This shell is ready to accommodate a V8, which the DBS was originally conceived for
The Appeal
By the late 1960s, following years of success with the DB4, 5 and 6, Aston Martin needed a new flagship grand tourer with a more contemporary look. Enter the DBS, which boasted styling radically different to that of its predecessors. Subsequently starring on-screen with George Lazenby’s Bond and Roger Moore in The Persuaders, the DBS looked very much at home whisking fictional spies and playboys around the Riviera.
We’re delighted to offer this 1968 example. Admittedly, it’s not quite ready for the road, but this shell offers an excellent opportunity to restore one of these great Aston Martins to your own specifications. Complete with a UK registration, V5C and VIN plate, as well as a number of repair sections to begin on the bodywork restoration, this is a great starting point.
The History and Paperwork
- As a relatively early example, this DBS would have been originally fitted with the legendary Tadek Marek straight-six engine
- V5C present, recording the colour as ‘White’
- An original Aston Martin Ltd plate ID is supplied bearing the VIN
- Please note that the trailer pictured is not included and the buyer will need to arrange an appropriate means to collect the shell and repair sections but it can be delivered dependant on delivery fees
The Condition
- The shell has been media blasted in readiness for repair and reassembly
- No mechanical, electrical, interior or trim components present
- The shell shows some evidence of corrosion, although is quite sound overall for an Aston Martin of this vintage
- Supplied with various repair sections in order to replace any corroded metal
- The outer skin looks to be quite straight, with no significant damage apparent
Summary
The DBS is amongst our favourite classic Aston Martins. Its suave styling looks fabulous to this day and we can’t wait to see this great GT back on the road once more.
Seldom is such a project complete with a V5C and registration, which is a real headstart for this car’s next owner.
