THE APPEAL
Sold from 1967 to 1969 and developed from the glorious 1R model, the Lamborghini R226 tractor was equipped with the well-known and reliable 1462 cm³ twin-cylinder diesel engine.
Lightweight, versatile and economical to run, it was produced briefly and in limited numbers and, thanks also to its peculiar appearance, with the rounded classic lines of the older models painted in the then new blue and white factory colours, it is particularly sought after by enthusiasts.
The seller informs us that this tractor, coming from a large private collection, was stripped and repainted with great care five years ago. The paint shows some minor flaws and is slightly faded on the front.
The model-correct headlights are new, as are the steering wheel and the fuel tank cap, while the distinctive rear lights are original.
The engine was serviced before sale, all fuel lines were replaced and the engine oil was changed.
The seller assures us that all mechanics have been well maintained and are in good working order, that the vehicle starts correctly and brakes well and that all controls are functional.
The front tyres are new.
The hour meter indicates a total of 4,060 working hours.
Kept in a private collection for a long time, all its documents have been lost.
Rare and sought after for its nice and irresistibly vintage lines and for its small size, which allows it to be driven and moved easily and stored in a regular garage, this beautiful R226, expertly restored and ready to drive, represents a rare opportunity for a competent and demanding enthusiast to acquire a significant piece of Lamborghini history.
