1967 Jaguar Mk2 2.4 MOD

Highlights

  • Dry stored and well maintained
  • Mostly original example
  • Full engine, suspension, and exterior overhaul in 2017

The Appeal

Launched in 1959, Jaguar’s MKII was an updated and improved version of the 2.4 Litre and 3.4 Litre (Also known as the MKI), which first arrived in 1955. The MKII was available with three capacities of the widely used, tried-and-true XK6 straight-six engine, which came in 2.4L, 3.4L and 3.8L variants. The updated MKII was only slightly re-engineered from its predecessor, with improvements including an improved driver’s visibility, thanks to more slender pillars allowing a larger windscreen and allowing the rear window to almost wrap around to the enlarged side windows. In addition to visibility improvements, the radiator grille was updated, and there were changes to the side, tail, and fog lamps.
Having been restored in 2017, this mostly original 2.4L variant has not seen more than 3,000 miles in the last 15 years. Dry stored, well maintained and fully restored in 2017, this one is ready to take on a new life with a new owner. With beautiful condition interior and exterior, and a mechanically sound engine and drivetrain, it’s immediately clear that this one’s been looked after lovingly by its current and previous owners.

Summary

This is a great example of a very well restored and mostly original Mark II. The current and previous owners have taken excellent care of it over its years in service; you can really tell there’s been a deep respect and genuine love for the vehicle throughout their ownerships. If you’re in the market for a Mark II, this is an honest car that not only looks the part, but also lives up to Jaguar’s time-honoured reputation.
