The Appeal
There aren’t many vehicles with the iconic nature of Ford’s legendary pony car. With its bold aesthetics, big chunky V8 powerplants and distinctly rebellious nature, they’re distinctly brash, distinctly powerful and - of course - distinctly American.
This example was imported to the UK in 2019 from Colorado, and what an example it is - highly original, in a stylish and rare colour scheme. The vendor highlights that out of all of the Mustangs he’s owned, this one is a particularly excellent driver.
The History and Paperwork
- Built in 1967 at Ford’s San Jose factory
- Resprayed circa 2017, and fitted with a Wilwood brake conversion
- In 2019 the car left its home of Colorado to the UK
- Here, it’s had only one former owner
- MOT exempt
- Currently indicates 40,317 miles on a five-figure odometer
- Sadly we can’t authenticate this indication,
- Paperwork file includes:
- V5c document
- State of Colorado Certificate of Title
- Invoice for headlight conversion kit from 2019
The Condition
- 'Lime Gold' & black two-tone paintwork
- Bodywork is in good order and highly original
- The vendor notes that the factory spot welds are still visible on the arches
- All trims and brightwork in very good order with only light pitting
- We note a missing piece of branding on each side of the car’s front arches
- The car is sitting on American five-spoke alloys, shod in Hankook tyres
- Impressive period interior in greys and greens
- Original factory seat covers
- The driver’s seat has one seam that’s beginning to open
- However we can spot no other rips or tears
- Dashboard in good order with all instruments clean and easy to read
- Colour matched steering wheel in good order
- Modern Sony music unit has been installed
- All interior equipment is reportedly working perfectly
- Underneath, the car is highly original with only light signs of wear
- The vendor notes that the Mustang is still carrying its factory coating
The Mechanics
