1967 Ford Mustang Convertible 289CI V8 C-Code

Highlights

  • Extensive documented restoration in 2018
  • Regularly but sparingly used since including trip to Paris
  • Beautiful Ford Smoke Grey metallic with burgundy roof
  • Well kept and highly presented 4 seater convertible
  • Well specified convertible with upgraded and rebuilt power plant

The Appeal

Much of the appeal of the Mustang, for modern enthusiasts, is that there is really nothing standard about it. It is all about the specification.
Early V8-powered cars command interest. Just like this one. Chassis records confirm it is a genuine factory ‘67 convertible originally supplied with the C-Code 200bhp 4.7L V8. it has been extensively upgraded since. Soon after arriving in the UK around seven years ago it was extensively restored - the work documented in an extensive booklet - and finished in the stunning combination of Ford Dark Smoke Grey metallic with new burgundy roof and retrimmed red vinyl interior. It looks incredible, the colour scheme offset by neat details like the deep dish polished alloys.

The mechanicals are equally compelling.  The engine has been fully rebuilt with a Summit 600 CFM carburettor, Weinand Streeet Warrior inlet manifold, fast road cam and alloy radiator.
The vendor acquired the car shortly after the work was finished and has covered 4,000 miles since. It has proved very reliable, including a trip as far afield as Paris. That sparing but regular use means the car arrives on the market with no known faults. It is fitted with stronger brakes, uprated suspension - coilovers front and rear - and the air conditioning has been regassed, a neat detail that indicates the keeper’s fastidiousness.
A Mustang that looks as good as it goes? That would be this one.
