Highlights

- Complete Series 3 2.2litre for restoration
- Very original with many factory features
- UK registered with one owner since 1990 arrival
The Appeal
Of the many variations of the remarkable DS, perhaps the eight seater Familiale is amongst the most remarkable. Three rows of seat were squeezed into the estate styling and still there was plenty of space for luggage.
It must have been a quite remarkable way for a family to travel back in 1967 when this very original example left the factory. It is an early Series 3 with the lovely Robert Opron-designed streamlined headlamps and other updates.
Imported to the UK in 1990 and in the hands of the same owner since, it appears to have last been on the road soon after it arrived. It is clearly a restoration project but one that is complete and increasingly very rare. When it was last used around a year ago, the suspension was functioning, and the car ran - so we hope it gets the chance to return to the road and embark on new long distance family road trips.
History and Paperwork

- First UK registered on 16th October 1990
- One owner since arriving in the UK
- 1991 tax disc supplied which may indicate when it was last on the road

- Early Series 3 car which was introduced in 1967 with Opron redesign
- This is the Familiale model with three rows of seats including three individual central seats
The Condition
- Complete and apparently very original car finished in white with green fabric interior
- New suspension compressor fitted last year
- The vendor informs us that the car was running and suspension was working perfectly
- The vehicle has not been started since then
- Retains its factory features including the split tailgate with two numberplates
- This enabled the Familiale to be driven with the rear tailgate open to accommodate extra long items
- Period correct large roof rack and factory steel hub caps amongst the great details
- Obvious deterioration visible to bodywork but panels are complete
- Lights in good order with no visible damage
- Factory standard interior with range of period features including Jaeger dials and single spoke wheel
- Three rows of seats trimmed in green fabric, the rear ones in generally fair condition
- Front seats show some wear visible in photographs and would need recovered
- Headlining appears to be original and is lightly sagging across length of car
The Mechanics
- Factory fitted with DS 2,175cc inline four cylinder engine developing 100bhp
- Appears to be fitted with the Citroen Hydraulique semi-automatic 4spd gearbox
- We do not know the maintenance history of the vehicle at the time of writing
- Naturally it will require mechanical restoration
- It is unclear if the car runs or drives
