The Appeal
When other manufacturers exited the 350 racing class, Benelli persevered. And lets be thankful it did because a year after this beautiful racing bike was built, a 350 4C took second in class at the Isle of Man TT in the hands of Renzo Pasolini.
In the 60s and 70s Benelli developed bikes for other manufacturers and sold through USA department changes. The Mojave was one such bike and was built in small numbers, possibly as a precursor for a future model. It featured a compelling specification including laced wheels, chromed exhaust, drum brakes, dual shock absorbers and telescopic forks. These bikes are now so rare that very little is known about them.
This restored Benelli evokes the firm's illustrious racing era with its lithe and sleek looks. The refurbishment work covered the bodywork and mechanicals, including rebuilding the engine. It is perhaps no surprise to learn that it has been awarded Best Classic at a Benelli Motori Club GB event.
