The last big Healey off the production line according to Austin Healy themselves
The Appeal
The Austin-Healey 3000, or big Healey as it is often referred to, is the legendary British sports car that has become hugely desirable and very collectible over recent years with prices rising quickly, especially for exceptional examples like this one.
Chassis number 43025 is confirmed as being the last of the 3000s to roll off the production line in 1967 and it has been extremely well looked after by its very few owners ever since.
Treated to a full bare metal respray in Golden Beige Metallic and thorough restoration prior to the current owner’s purchase in 2017, the car is in exceptionally nice condition throughout and comes with a good history and great provenance, being the last one off the production line. bhUouAuDW0XuvVEhEbd6rrwBTwyuGm2JJwWs0B7d.jpg466.2 KB

Wooden Moto-Lita classic steering wheel and walnut dashboard facia
Clean and dry boot area with spare wire wheel and tools
It’s a well-presented fairly luxurious and comfortable cockpit with few signs of its true age. Recently the seats have had new seat covers and there are new carpets and mats throughout.
Door cards have a few scuffs that will probably polish out easily enough and all the instruments and switches work as they should, with only the horn reported to not be currently working.
The paintwork has a deep shine and depth to it and the brand-new chrome wire wheels and all round excellent chrome makes it look great from all angles.
The hood fits well, though this is not a car that has seen much adverse weather, and other than some light surface corrosion around the wheel arch edges and the odd small perfection in the paint there is very little to report.
Brand new wire wheels and tyres have recently been fitted and there are front mounted spotlights and a vintage Austin-Healey Club badge.
Things look good under the bonnet with a nicely detailed engine bay and a shiny new rocker cover and underneath the car it all appears to be nicely preserved and solid.kbUyoe0CAl4HgDzQTSHgtWImP09VtVlcFN4GTAt7.jpg445.38 KB
The Mechanics
3 litre 6-cylinder engine
4 speed manual gearbox with overdrive
Servo assisted disc brakes front with drums at rear
Genuine low mileage
Nicely detailed and clean engine bay
Regularly serviced
The brakes, suspension and mechanics were well taken care of during its thorough restoration and in recent years the overdrive unit has been rebuilt and works perfectly, making for much more enjoyable motoring.
Very few miles have been done since its last oil and filter change a few years ago, so other than maybe an oil change there’s going to be very little to do to the car in the near future.
If you love the classic muscular British roadster look then the Austin-Healey 3000 fits that bill for sure, and with the 3 Litre engine it’s as good to drive as it looks.
This is a fabulous example of a great British sports car with genuine low mileage that is presented in extremely good condition and comes with the provenance of being the last one to roll off the production line according to Austin Healy themselves. A golden opportunity for any Austin-Healey 3000 fan or serious collector.
