The TR6 Trophy was always intended to be an American bike. Often dubbed the 'Desert Sled', it aimed the sun-and-sand-drenched circuits of Californian Desert Racing, and proved remarkably successful with it.
The first trophy won was the 1956 Big Bear Run, and it was still a competition winner in 1970. The British constabulary was so impressed that they gained their own variant specifically for law enforcement duties. Put simply, this was one of Triumph's most successful models ever.
Nowadays? It's an essential classic mount, and has proven incredibly accepting of all manner of modifications and additions. This particular 1966 bike boasts a 5-speed gearbox conversion and bespoke stainless steel silencers, along with an upgraded clutch. It's a fabulous bike - and eminently rideable.
