The Appeal

The TR4A is a great symbol of how Triumph differed from, say, MG. While their rivals tended to sit on their laurels, Triumph was more reactive and innovative. While the elder Triumph Roadsters carried a chassis that was about as old-school as it got, with stiff old-fashioned leaf springs and often horrendous ride quality, the new Independent Rear Suspension car was on an almost entirely new framework.

The car sold an impressive 28,465 units - only 3,075 of which were UK-market, right-hand drive cars. This '66 roadster is one of these and underwent a very impressive restoration by Couston Classic Engineers between 2007 and 2007 - after which it's only run 600 miles!

As a result, the car is still a remarkable looker, with clean bodywork, a fine underside and brightwork that still glints beautifully against its Signal Red paintwork. It's accompanied by an impressive history file and has spent recent years as part of a treasured collection. A quick spot of recommissioning later and it's now ready and waiting for its lucky new owner.
