The Appeal

The Triumph Spitfire was intended to try and take the fight to Austin-Healey's Sprite, and - as fate would have it - ended up having to prove itself against the brand new MGB, too. Thankfully, it managed to hold its own ably, thanks in no part to its Michelotti-penned styling. Though modernisation lost much of its character, the early generations of these perky little sports cars were curvy, stylish and really stood out.

This '66 example comes to us in resplendent order. Plenty of awards are under its belt courtesy of a top-notch restoration job, carried out by a retired Jaguar-Landrover engineer, something that it's only covered 2,000 miles since. You'd be hard-pressed to find a better example than this simply fabulous roadster!
